I think I have a problem, there is a subscription box on my doorstep weekly! Could be worse, right?! I signed up for the Sephora Play! box a few months ago and finally received my first a few days ago. Sephora’s subscription box is $10 a month and works similarly to ipsy, GLOSSYBOX, etc. Each months shipment is supposed to be customized to your preferences: skin tone/type, hair color, fave products, you name it.
SOOOOOO, here is the scoop on my first. I received two lip products, a mascara, two skin products and a perfume.
NARS Velvet Lip
This is a really pretty color, similar to my everyday Revlon colorstay (endless spice). It is pretty creamy, lasts a few hours but does transfer like crazy.
Too Faced Lip Injection Gloss
I’m not big on glosses but for plumping this gloss does the job, albeit for a very short time. This gloss tingles, as most plumpers do, but the tingling only lasts a few minutes. This may be a good option for taking photos, but for everyday I would skip it.
Clinique – Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer
I feel nothing for this moisturizer.. I’m not excited, nor turned off. Just blahhhhhh.
Origins – GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream
Origins claims “This morning-after eye cream with coffee beans, panax ginseng, magnolia extract, and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up tired eyes. It helps reduce dark circles and unsightly bags, refreshing to restore a radiant look.” I do like this eye cream, however I didn’t notice much of a difference.
Sephora LASHCRAFT Length & Volume Mascara
I didn’t care for this mascara. It was clumpy on application and didn’t do much for lengthening.
Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence
This is nice scent but I don’t think it is for me. I live for Angel and Flower Bomb!
I have to be honest girlfriends, I am not totally sold even though I like the high end brands included in this box. I will give this subscription a few more months because I LOVE Sephora and frankly should own stock in the company. However I really hope the products in the next box are more suited to my preferences.
XOXO – Shayna
